About Paeroa
Paeroa is known as the Best little town in the middle of everywhere, winner of community of the year in 2012. Paeroa is a thriving vibrant community that puts on some amazing events that you would not expect for a town of this size. There are over 30 places to eat in the town, including the award winning Refinery Cafe, and the famous Falls Retreat restaurant is only 15mins drive away.
Paeroa is at the very centre of the popular Hauraki Rail Trail, and the start of the trail is 5 minutes ride from Casa Mexicana and there are several bike hire shops in Paeroa. The popular leg from Paeroa to Waihi is a beautiful ride through the Karangahake Gorge which is fun for the whole family, and includes the ride through the old mining tunnel.
The Karangahake “Windows Walk” is 15 minutes drive away, and this enjoyable walk is well worth a visit.
